Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old when he was 27, he began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Alongside his appearance in the drama series released worldwide under the name The Killing, he subsequently appeared in two other internationally acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he was the role of President Russia. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his part on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He also has different accents. According to Mikkelsen's sources the story, he and his brother learned English through Monty Python records.
