Hossack is a Canadian-born Steinbach. She was raised in Killarney Manitoba and took part in musical theatre plays during her time as a student. As she started her studies at Brandon University, she was a major in piano. She switched from piano into voice. When she graduated, she stated she only would like to be an actor and was not interested in drama. She took classes in fine arts at Banff School of Fine Arts shortly after she finished her studies at Brandon. Following her graduation from college, Hossack performed on the stage during the Muskoka Festival in Ontario as in Winnipeg as well as on at the Rainbow Stage in Winnipeg. Other World (from 1989 to 1992), Cobra (from 1993-1992), Hope Island, (1999) as well as Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital (2003). In 2006, she appeared in the role of Falcon Beach on Canadian television. Hossack was a guest on shows such as Sliders and Mysterious Ways. On the TV show Reaper Hossack played the role of Mrs. Oliver. Deanna Campbell is also the mother of Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester's maternal grandmother.
