Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American performer and actress. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), Nurse, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her mother is Polish as is her father, who is German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen was already an accomplished performer from a young age. She won her role as Raggedy Ann in 1992 after having attended her first audition. Bell was accepted by her mother as an agent at the age of was only 13 years old. She was then selected for newspapers ads as well as TV commercials. Then Bell also started classes in acting. Bell was credited with a minor part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School and was in the band as well as the drama club. The Wizard of Oz was performed by her high school and she won the role as Dorothy. Bell later moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She studied musical theater at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell graduated from her college in 2001 after she took the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. That same year, she was in Pootie Tang however, the scene in which Bell played the role was removed. As a result, there is only a credit sequence. Bell was on Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival that featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
